Investor updates are one of the best ways to pinpoint and track the progress of your company, projects or ideas. Even if you don't have any investors to send these updates to, having a record of progress helps to keep you accountable but also to focus your mind on the challenges and plans ahead.

It's often said by many investors that the best founders are the ones who send updates on a regular schedule be that monthly, quarterly etc.. and stick to it. As opposed to a monthly update then a bi-monthly update then a quarterly update, you get my point.

Another thing to think about is the format of your updates, usually something like Intro, TLDR, Progress / Traction, Challenges, Plans, Summary & Asks. Perhaps with a graph or image to highlight certain points. The goal is to get straight to the point and convey the update concisely.
